Food Sensitivities

Food sensitivities are common triggers that cause inflammation of the gut, leading to irritable pains and discomforts. Symptoms of food triggers on the skin include breakouts and cystic acne. Therefore, knowing the trigger foods and changing the diet helps in eliminating the symptoms.

Elimination Diet

  • Establishing Food Sensitivities

Elimination diet is one way of identifying the trigger foods and the most recommended. The concept is accurate when compared to alternative testing methods. For a person having cystic acne or acne, the elimination diet is usually the first act. To apply the concept, the person should do the following;

  • Consume clean diets for up to 3 weeks
  • Avoid offending foods
  • Commence to bring back the meals once at an interval of four days
  • Analyze the body’s reaction to reintroduction

Reintroduction can bring about problems depending on the person and to be on the safe side, the person should look out for symptoms including, bloating, gas, stomach pains, breakouts, rashes, mood swings, irritations and puffy eyes.

The test for food triggers or sensitivities is therefore important. However, such tests are usually not catered for by insurance and are matters that generate much disagreements. Despite this, not all food tests should be discouraged as there are other lab firms that produce good results such as the Alletess Labs test. Furthermore, tests by Medlab (184 Food Panel and 96 Food Panel) are helpful when testing for the regular foods that people consume.

But if the person is to achieve almost correct results, then the elimination diet is the way to go. Because the person will be doing away with foods they usually eat, the idea will take time to sink in. Fortunately, the concept is not a permanent thing and the benefits that the person gets can change the person’s life for the better.
